WHO WE SERVE
Who We SERVE
Our new works mission serves two key groups: Daring Artists and Adventurous Audiences.
Daring Artists
We don’t just produce plays. We support the playwrights, composers, lyricists, and theater makers who conceive them– from the inception of the idea, far before their plays hit their first rehearsal. Through our dynamic and long-term development processes, we support artists over multiple years with direct compensation, artistic support, collaborative team members, and quality producing. We do this because we believe artists are change-makers– their innovative art provides our community with profound moments of inspiration, joy, healing, empathy, togetherness. We know that artists can only find such stories when given time, space, and resources to be brave, rigorous, and tenacious.
Adventurous Audiences
We view our audiences as co-creators; a vital part of our creative process. Through our public in-process events like workshops and readings, we invite our patrons to become active participants by sharing their responses, feedback, and experiences. This creates a deep sense of collective ownership in our arts community. Likewise, through our world premiere productions, we provide audiences with impactful theatrical experiences. These original, fresh, and adventurous stories created by local artists seek to shake audiences from the norm, surprise with both spectacle and immediacy, and inspire us all toward connection.

These two aspects of our community are in constant conversation. Artists need audiences to build their evolving worlds; audiences need artists for inspiration, human connection and bold new perspectives. At Trademark, we provide the spaces and experiences for this indispensable communal exchange.
