About TRADEMARK
Founded in 2017 by award-winning theater artist Tyler Michaels King, TRADEMARKTHEATER is in its 9th season of presenting bold new theatrical works in the vibrant Twin Cities arts community. Trademark is the only non-profit theater in Minnesota that is solely focused on the creation, development, and production of new theatrical productions. By fostering and producing daring new stories for the stage, our artist-led company creates connections between daring artists and adventurous audiences.
With productions ranging from intimate plays to big musicals, interpersonal dramas to raucous comedies, and reinventions of classical text to experimental performances, Trademark’s new works are boundary-less. We seek innovative stories that introduce new ideas and voices, break traditional forms, and smash together genres and styles. Trademark champions artists taking big swings to create authentic, powerful stories that speak to the here and now as well as our limitless future.
Without a physical space of our own, Trademark produces in, and brings awareness to, many small to mid-sized performing venues across the Twin Cities– our itinerant events grow our community and allow us to cater each venue to the needs of each story we tell.
Trademark remains at the forefront of the new works community by promoting boldness and risk-taking in all of our programming. In only nine years, Trademark has produced 9 world premiere productions and supported the development of nearly 20 new plays or musicals from local artists.

Trademark Theater aims to be the New Works Hub of the Midwest; a living and ever-evolving company, where artists, art, and audiences gather to experience the power of daring new stories. A space where artistic innovation and collaborative risk-taking inspire connection.
We see our rehearsal room as the birthplace of the next great American play or hit Broadway musical. We aspire to welcome artists from across the country to develop and produce their stories on Twin Cities stages while continuing to foster local talent to create bold new works of theater.
