WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE VERSION OF ROBIN HOOD TO DATE?
Honestly I haven't read or watched a Robin Hood story for a long time, but I do remember a Doctor Who episode set in Sherwood Forest called Robot of Sherwood, I loved how the Robin Hood story was brought into the fantasy world of Doctor Who. Robin Hood is just a timeless tale that is instantly recognizable in any setting. It’s familiar yet new, which is very true in this show as well.
IN TRADEMARK'S THE BOY AND ROBIN HOOD, ROBIN IS NOT NECESSARILY THE MAIN CHARACTER. WE FOLLOW THE STORY THROUGH THE LENS OF YOUR CHARACTER, A BOY NAMED MUCH. WHAT ARE YOU MOST INTERESTED IN EXPLORING IN THE BOY AND HIS RELATIONSHIP TO THE STORY OVERALL?
First of all the boy is a unique character, so I'm really interested in exploring who the boy is and how he fits in this story. One of the things I've noticed about Much is that he’s like most kids; he's trying to find his place in the world and wants to belong. As the play develops, he learns more of what's reality and what’s fantasy, and he’s forced to grow up.
WHAT MAKES YOU EXCITED TO WORK WITH TRADEMARK?
It’s extremely fun to be a part of something that's brand new and in the works! I’m fortunate to be working with Tyler and Tyler as well as everyone else in this very talented group of actors and staff. It is part of the reason I love acting so much! I’m learning a lot as the process unfolds.
Then there's the music, THE MUSIC!! I think it’s so different and innovative (just like this show) that it's perfect! In other words...thank you David Darrow!
